Keka Hours Tracker (“the extension”) is a Chrome browser extension that shows your attendance and work hours from your company’s Keka HR portal. The extension is made for people who use Keka at work. This policy explains what the extension and this website handle, and what they do with it. The short version: your data stays in your browser. We do not receive it.
Who publishes this extension
The extension is published by 11Vertex, a product engineering studio. It is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Keka.
Information the extension accesses
- Your Keka session. When you are signed in to your company’s Keka site (
*.keka.com), the extension picks up your existing session token in two ways: it looks for it in that page’s browser storage, and it reads theAuthorizationheader on requests the Keka site itself makes. It only reads outgoing request headers and does not read the responses. You never enter a separate password in the extension. - Attendance and work-hour data. Using that session, the extension asks Keka for your attendance summaries, punch times, leave, holidays, WFH requests and related data, the same information Keka’s own pages show you.
- Your settings. Weekly target hours, daily minimum hours, light or dark theme, your chosen catch-up plan, which sections are open or closed, and similar preferences you set in the extension.
How information is stored
Everything is stored locally in your browser with Chrome’s chrome.storage.local. That includes your session token, your Keka address, cached attendance data, the toolbar badge state and your settings. Nothing is uploaded to servers operated by 11Vertex, and we have no server that receives it.
How information is used
Only to provide the extension’s features:
- Showing daily and weekly hours, charts and calendar views.
- Showing a live clock-in counter and when your target will be met.
- Updating the toolbar badge with the hours you still need today.
- Opening a side drawer on the current tab when you click the icon or use the keyboard shortcut, so you can see the tracker without leaving the page.
When the drawer opens on a website that is not Keka, the extension injects only its own interface (an extension page in an iframe). It does not read that website’s content, form data or your browsing history.
We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone.
Network requests
Attendance and session requests go only to your company’s Keka address (*.keka.com), using the same APIs Keka’s web app already uses. The extension’s own screen may also load fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). No other server receives your Keka data, and the extension does not run any analytics or tracking.
Permissions
Chrome asks for these permissions only to do the following:
- Access to
*.keka.com: read your Keka session and call Keka’s attendance APIs. webRequest: read the outgoingAuthorizationheader on Keka requests, in read-only mode, to pick up your existing session.activeTabandscripting: when you click the icon or use the shortcut, show the side drawer on the current tab, without reading that page.storage: keep your settings and a short-lived cache on your device.alarms: refresh the toolbar badge on a schedule.
Keyboard shortcut
You can open the tracker with a shortcut: Command+Shift+K on Mac, Alt+K on Windows and Linux by default. Chrome manages shortcuts, and you can change them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts or with “Set up shortcut” in the extension’s settings.
Data retention and deletion
Data stays in chrome.storage.local until you remove the extension, clear its data in Chrome, or sign out of Keka, which invalidates the session token. Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored on your device.
This website
This site promotes the extension. It has no accounts, no forms, no analytics and no advertising cookies. The website itself saves one thing in your browser’s local storage: your light or dark theme choice. The extension’s own settings, such as your weekly target and daily minimum hours, are kept by the extension in chrome.storage.local as described above, and are never part of this website. The live preview here runs entirely in your browser with sample data and does not connect to Keka. Anything you change in the preview, such as its settings, is not saved and is gone when you reload the page. Like most websites, this one loads its icons from the public Iconify icon service, which can see your IP address and browser details in the normal way when an icon is requested.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the extension changes. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest version.
